I'm not sure what recruiters would see, but on my own profile page under Your Most Popular Repositories the top repo is one that does not belong to me and I think I never worked on (although it's a random repo from a colleague, so it may be that there is a commit of mine in it).

I have tons of repos that I heavily contribute to, a few have several thousand stars, but no one of these is under my personal GitHub name because I like to use organizations for larger projects. Those repos don't show anywhere right now.

Maybe you should rather use the GitHub pins instead of sorting personal repos by stars? Much better signal-to-noise ratio imho :) Compare the repos listed on my profile vs the ones pinned on my GitHub profile to see what I mean: https://github.com/ZanSara
